Ray Caye Island Resort

Ray Caye Officially Cuts the Ribbon!

Almost two years ago, Hatchet Caye Resort started the journey to upgrade our existing resort to what is now Ray Caye Island Resort. This transformation came in various stages and forms over a period of time as we were determined to never close our doors to the guests who visit us year in and year out.

On February 18th, 2020, Ray Caye officially reopened our doors with a small ribbon-cutting ceremony that included our entire team, members of the Placencia and Seine Bight Village Council, suppliers, friends, and family. This event took place in front of our new welcome center, which was officially opened yesterday and hosts the addition of Kiki’s Gifts – the island’s newest gift corner featuring local art, jewelry, resort wear, coffee, jams and a variety of gifts for guests to take back home.

The most recent addition to the resort collection includes two honeymoon suites that were opened earlier this month. These suites are ultra-private, include private plunge pools and some of the most stunning views the island offers. Following these suites, the island also features six new 2nd-floor resort rooms, which are placed in the center of the island, providing a new angle of view on Ray Caye.

We could go on and on about all the new additions that we are so very proud of, but we think you should see it for yourself! Come swing over the waters on our beach, take the plunge and try our saltwater slide or grab a scuba scooter from the new Pelagic sport and fishing center and snorkel around the island at your leisure.

Our island still has everything we offered before and more, these changes were designed to enhance your guest experience, and we hope you’ll enjoy it. From our Ray Caye family to yours, we thank you for bearing with us during the phases of construction, and we welcome you back with open arms!
