Belize Diving Tours at Ray Caye begin where the water’s edge meets your ambitions; steps from the door of your island accommodation. Boat rides to and from Belize’s hot spots are minutes away and because this private island is so small, there’s no line to board your boat to reach diving hot spots like the Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve. Don’t know how to scuba dive yet? That’s no problem either, we have Discover Scuba courses available on-site.
Ray Caye Resort is not just breathtakingly beautiful, but guests find snorkeling paradise literally steps from their lush accommodations. Located so close to the nearby Gladden Spit, considered the epicenter of snorkeling heaven, it takes just minutes to get there and even less time to gear up for your first or 100th dive.
If “fishing” is the answer that comes to mind first when you’re asked the question, “What gives you the most pleasure?” perhaps it’s time to leave the familiar and take your passion to the next step: Fishing in Belize. This nation is the ultimate in diversity so whether your idea of heaven is fly fishing, deep-sea fishing or something in-between, you’re practically assured a “grand slam” experience, even if you’re just a beginner with big dreams.
In addition to our adventure tours, there is lots to do right here on the island. Whether you’re looking to explore the underwater world by snorkeling off the pier (day or night) or you just want to relax by the pool or get a massage, we have you covered. Below are some of the activities available on the island. All unguided activities below are complimentary with the exception of our spa services. If you would like a guided tour or a spa service, we will be happy to arrange it for you. Contact us to learn more about our Belize island activities.
A wedding is a way to tie a sacred bond between yourself and the person you love most in the world, but it’s also an opportunity to fold your most important friends and family into one of the most meaningful experiences of your life. If you want a destination wedding that you and all the people you love will remember for the rest of your lives, there’s no place more magical than Belize.
rlfriedrich2023-04-13Best island restaurant My wife and I were on a Trade Winds cruise and we did an overnight in the Harbor of Ray Cay Resort. It was our evening out for dinner off the boat. The restaurant was fabulous. Their Conch soup was the best I have ever had. My wife had Filet Mignon that was very tender and cooked to perfection. All the food and the one dessert they make daily was top drawer. After our meal we walked around the resort and went to the bar and had evening cocktails. The bartender poured a great drink.Lovetoexplore6782023-03-17Ray Caye was Fantastic!!! Our family of 5 (three children under 10) just spent 3 amazing nights at Ray Caye and had an absolute blast! Staying out on Ray Caye makes you feel like you have an amazing island with spectacular coral reefs to explore all to yourself! Our accommodations were very nice and comfortable and a perfect setup for our family (king connecting to two queens). The food on Ray Caye was fantastic!! We looked forward to every meal- a special at dinner, the conch fritters were some of the best we have ever had! Our kids had so much fun sliding down the awesome slide on the dock, snorkeling right off the beach, playing volleyball, and fishing from the dock. What makes the island shine are the amazing people who work there- just a few to name- Antonio, who helped our stay run smoothly, Franklin at the restaurant who always made us smile, Jose, who made yummy chocolate milkshakes for us, and Mario, who made sure we had what we needed to enjoy some fishing. I would highly recommend you add a few nights at Ray Caye to your vacation while in Belize- the crystal blue waters over the beautiful coral reefs are definitely worth seeing and the peaceful laid back atmosphere will have you feeling refreshed for sure!P7932OFphilipp2023-03-13Sailing Belize We had already enjoyed five nights on the water during our sailing trip in Belize. I hailed the resort early Monday morning. A lovely young woman named Cynthia answered my radio communication immediately and I was able to book dinner for 8 that night. What a fabulous experience Ray Cay was. The mooring was easy to hook up on and really well maintained. the staff on the island were extremely welcoming. From Andre at the dive center to Cynthia at the reception desk and Jose and Noe who manned the bar and restaurant were wonderful people. It was a magical way the end our week on the water. Anyone who is sailing these waters should consider thai a must stop. I will be back and thanks again to all!!!ps40320192023-03-09No complaints Ray Caye is an absolutely fabulous place to visit. The staff is wonderful, friendly, super helpful and always willing to go that extra mile for you. The island is gorgeous, the water very clear and the coral is healthy. We snorkeled every day all around the island and saw spotted eagle rays, stingrays, nurse sharks and tons of fish.MonVervTravels2023-03-05The most memorable 40th birthday trip ever! Raye Caye was absolutely spectacular! The island is gorgeous. The staff is so friendly and attentive. We loved Melvin, Franklin, Neo & JR! Everything we had at the restaurant was excellent!! The chef even wrote down and shared a recipe that I asked about. Our Villa was beautiful. Top notch location for a relaxing, memorable vacation! We hope to be back! Will L2023-02-26Paradise awaits Thank you very much to everyone at Ray Caye Resort! We spent 5 amazing days on the island and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was 5 star as was the service. Every single person taking care of us throughout our visit went above and beyond. Never once did we find ourselves with nothing to do! Sailing, kayaking, diving, snorkeling and volleyball at 5. We will definitely be backPolybin2023-02-23Problems but the staff made it! Ray Caye was our final destination in Belize. Transfers to it (from Chaa Creek) were comfortable and smooth. The boat trip could be less pleasant depending on your fellow passengers. A mix up by our tour company meant we weren’t allocated the room we were expecting with a bath and we were given room C8. This would be a very pleasant light room with good views of the East side of the Island except it is linked to C9. The walls are paper thin. We could clearly hear the discourse of some loud and selfish guests made worse by their laughing and chatting noisily at 5am the next day. We dealt with this in the time honoured fashion but, irrespective, the sound proofing is inadequate. We got the distinct impression that the managing director was not that bothered about this or our other minor complaints as the party of 30 or so making the noise were a significant proportion of the resort. We were offered a move but this was messed up when they got our leaving date wrong. That’s the negatives. The positives are that the rest of the staff are excellent. They could not be more friendly, helpful and professional. William (fishing), Candido (sailing) and Charmaine (massage) in particular and Noya, Antonio and all the guys in the restaurant and bar. I didn’t meet the chef(s) but the food at bfast lunch and dinner was exceptional and priced reasonably. There was a good choice and they would be happy to offer an alternative if you asked. My catch from a trip was delicious. Drinks were reasonably priced for an Island 17 miles from a supply line. The island was extremely well maintained and clean with several small beaches to swim off. Low tide restricted this but the piers all had ladders into deeper water.Apart from the room, noise was kept to a low key mainly around the restaurant. If going avoid C8 when the Yoga group are weekending!Emily T2023-02-23Ray Caye sets the bar for caribbean experiences. I work in hospitality marketing and have stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. This was the best "beach resort" experience I have ever had. Expectations were high and they were exceeded. Felt truly like a private island where we didn't have to share a sunset or beach with anyone. I wish I had room to list all the staffs names here - but they were all amazing... remembered us by name and made our stay personal and relaxing. We snorkled, fished and used the fitness and yoga deck as well during our stay. Hope to someday return with friends. Thank you Ray Caye! :) - Emily + TJDena2023-02-20A real "Fantasy Island" This private resort is a hidden gem! If you're looking for peace, quiet, relaxation, a non-party atmosphere.... totally Zen... then this is your retreat! The island only has a few villas, so there's not a lot of traffic. Our villa was three bedrooms, each with a private bath, and a living area and kitchen. It also had a plunge pool, and the villa sat directly on the ocean with phenomenal views! We slept with the sliding doors opened every night listening to the waves crash. There is no villa without a beautiful view and direct ocean access. You can only access the island by boat. We had an all-inclusive meal plan, and the food was great! We also brought along our own spirits and snacks because there are no stores to access any type of food. Meals are served only three times per day, so if you're hungry in between serving times or miss a serving time, there's no other food options. We did snorkling, boating, and canoed. We drank fresh coconut milk picked straight from trees. There are community games available for play. There's only one television on the entire island. It has a Firestick, so you can put in your password if you'd like to watch TV. WiFi was good, but not great. Kind of spotty.Everyone on the island was extremely kind and helpful. Melvin was a joy! He took great care of us... He was an additional delight to our vacation! I'm horrible at remembering names, but a special thank you to each and every one of the island's staff for making our stay enjoyable and memorable! This trip was a girls' trip, and now I'm eager to return with my husband so that he can experience this magical "Fantasy Island"!Sightseer7980582022-08-08HEAVEN / PARADISE / SCUBA / SNORKLE / VEGAN / WHALE SHARK Ray Caye is AMAZING! Not only is the island beautiful, peaceful and relaxing, but the STAFF truly makes this place special. This was my third trip to Ray Caye, once as a mother/daughter trip, second trip for my daughter to get married, and third trip was to celebrate a new career for me. I thought of exploring a different place in Belize for the third trip but could not even imagine anyplace better than Ray Caye. When you have found paradise...why look any further. The staff are phenomenal and truly treat you like family. We snorkeled, SCUBA, paddle boarded, got massages, and just enjoyed our time together. To top it off, the Lionfish Grill is amazing! Two of our 5 people were VEGAN. They figured they would eat rice and beans for a week, but no, the chef was able to accommodate this and made some of the most amazing vegan dishes for every meal - and dessert!! Truly this was the icing on the cake for this trip. He made a curry dish that was to die for! If you are up in the air on coming, I can guarantee that this will be the most amazing place you have ever visited with the most amazing people working there. I can't wait for my fourth trip...! Lastly...on my bucket list was to see a WHALE SHARK and we were so lucky that on our second whale shark dive this behemoth came from the depths and did a drive-by not once, but twice. I can tell you it was the most surreal - amazing experience EVER and so glad I could share that memory with my Ray Caye family!
